I’m Supposed to Describe My Purpose in This Space
Well, that’s just the point now, isn’t it? Here is the short of it all: I paid off my student loans over a year ago, and felt a bit at a loss because now I am “free”. I can do whatever I want and not have to be required to make a large sum of money to just make ends meet. I have been living in Japan and enjoying it and saving money, while my husband holds down the fort in the US. Well, my studio closed and they were gracious in what I received for my work with them. Now, I am at a point where I can take a bit of time to really consider what I want to do. I have no idea what my goals are, but I have a shit-load of hobbies. So, I am opening this blog up (along with youtube videos) to document my path to figuring out what my next steps are. I did not do it before, and figured that since I do want to be better at filming myself, speaking, writing, etc. that this is a good time and way to start.

What You Do
I have been a Producer/Project Manager/Development Director (title depends on the company) for 10+ years in gaming (mobile and social, particularly). Ultimately, the responsibilities were the same: Budgets, managing teams of designers, artists, engineers, making sure games launch and have a stable live service. I work with teams to put together processes and pipelines that are designed for the team’s needs to function effectively, and the executive needs for reporting on progress. I do enjoy the work and the people I am lucky to meet and work along side. I do NOT like how volatile the gaming industry is.
Explain Your Mission
Because I have been working to pay off student loans and I have completed that, along with losing my job due to studio closure, I feel it is high time to discover what I want to do. I have no clue what I want to do. I know what I like and what I do not like, so I am going to start from there. So, this year is about that discovery. I am in Japan and plan to use the next 3 months to enjoy EVERY DAMN DAY. I will wake up early, write, paint, and go out and enjoy Tokyo. When I get back to the States, I will be traveling around the country for about 1-2 months. Discover what is out there. There are likely jobs I never knew existed. In any case, I will be putting up YouTube videos for the visuals. Plus I want to be better at speaking publicly, and in a camera.
