Post 16: Mt. Takao
I decided to head over to Mt. Takao as it was perfect weather to do it. I went via the Tozai Line to Mitaka, then the Chuo Line to Takao station….then the Keio line, one stop to Mt. Takao.
There were not that many people on the train, and it seemed like it would be good, quite walk.
Many people take the #1 trail. It is definitely the most touristy. It is also probably the safest. However, this one seems to have the steepest climbs and a shitload of stairs. This is also the longest route, clocking at an average of 100 min.
I decided to take Route #6. Below are some pictures from the different types of terrain I came across.
Just some little statues along the way. Hey fellas!
This poster is talking about the little sounds that you will hear as you go through the mountain. I did hear some cute little squeaky sounds, that I wish I recorded, but it sounded a bit like a puppy whining. Turned out to be a couple of frogs chatting with each other inside little wet holes in the walls.
The trail goes into a small stream. Wear proper shoes, or you will slip all over the place.
Up at the top. I was happy that I was able to get up here better than last time. Definitely worth losing the weight. I felt a lot better than last time too!
There was a fucking ridiculous amount of children at the top. Urgh. I did decide to take the route #1 down. My legs hurt so bad today. Mainly my hips, to be honest.
This is where it gets touristy on route 1 down.
Not sure what these names represent. But there were a lot. I want to assume donations to Mt. Takao?
Mid-way down look. Not sure what this is facing, but I fucking love it, none-the-less.
Shopping area for all your touristy prayer needs.
I got home relatively early. I left just before 9am and got back before 3pm. I just chilled and got some clean up done on my dropbox. Below are some photos from the trip!
