Post 21: Off to Switzerland

Well, i’m In Switzerland!  It was a really long travel, but it happened!

I woke up at 5am, got my shit and left for the train to Shinjuku to get my bus.

I ended up getting on the earlier bus

Surprisingly, the train that early in the morning was crowded, and the bus was crowded too.

When I got to the airport, there was this giant line to one place, it may have been Korea because there was a Korean Air sign in that area. Luckily, I had no line and got through. Security went fast as well as the immigration. The airport bathrooms were quite limited and there was an absurd long line.

When I first got to my gate, this one lady (I think she was French) and she was laying down at a charge station for devices. It was not particularly crowded, but the device charging stations were. So as. Went to sit next to her laying down, she got up. There was a lady that sat next to me to my right. At one point, she go up and left her suitcase and bag of food for at least 40 min. People ended up sitting around her shit.

I got up to go to the bathroom before lining up for my flight, and when I got back I saw this when it was VERY crowded:

wtf is wrong with you??! This is what I call an “inconsiderate ____”

Anyway, I got on the plane next to a Danish (?) guy and a Japanese kid part of a jr. high school soccer team. They were super well-behaved. I was in the middle seat, clearly, but all parties were extremely respectful.

I ended up watching four movies: Lyana (African film that was about kids writing their own story), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, pt. 2, Rocky IV....and I honesty can’t remember the other movie at the moment. I know I was not going to watch bohemian rhapsody.....I did not want to cry.

Amsterdam has a really nice airport. I do not like how Europeans (at least in France and Amsterdam) “line up” to get on a plane.we call this in the States a “clusterfuck”.  When I got there I immediately went to Starbucks.

This Starbucks had meals and so much more. The coffee was so good. I eventually went to another place to get a flat white, but it was just from some random machine behind the cashier. It was way too hot and disgusting. I waited until it cooled down enough to pour it out.

Loads of cute little shops in the airport.

Not super crowded, but a pretty far walk to my gate. Loads of things to look at and was really nice.

Well, this flight was terrifying. Major turbulence. They said, “we have some reports of some slight turbulence.” We really should invest some time into an agreed definition of “slight” the view was pretty.

After getting to the airport in Switzerland, I went to figure out how to use the transportation, but the dude at the counter was a right piece of garbage. ‘Up to the left” ....he cut me off as I was trying to ask another question with the same answer.

So, fuck that guy.

I went to the train area and changed the little ticket thing to English....could not find the stop or type of ticket I needed, and all buttons were in English except for the one I think I may have needed.

i ended up walking to my hotel. I do have an 8 day Swiss pass that starts on the 25th, and the hotel is actually close. I am just glad it was light enough to see since I had to go through some questionable parking lots to get there. Sit is a cute AF hotel, though and super friendly!

So, now that I am here, and they have pretty good WiFi, I am going into Geneva today for a little bit and then I am going to try and make my way to my Airbnb in Clarens.
