Post 36: Survey of the apartment

In the morning, I decided to go to Bill’s in Omote-sando. Bill’s is an Australian (I assume pretty famous?) restaurant. It is super expensive. I had a Flat White and it was like ¥900!!!! It was so small!!!!! But fuck it was good. :)

I got to sit on the terrace seating as it was REALLY nice weather out. Though the seating was right in front of two guys with a. questionably vivid conversation.

One guy was German going on about traveling Japan and getting loads of pictures then complaining about having his second book published. The other guy was either American or Canadian and was just a friend. Holy god. The American said that German-guy needs to find a “hot girl” and German-man was adamant in saying that “there are not hot girls in the country”. The American said that there are some…..German just kept saying, No….there are never hot girls in the country.

Oddly the German guy then says that he is not confident talking to girls giving an example of stuttering “uh…uh…can I maybe….uh…..get ….a….coffee?” AAAAAnd, he is a heavy Tarot fan. He went to get his Tarot read and astrology reading and they told him his problem is a lack of routine……to which he thought that was the most brilliant thing in the world.

They then talked about getting a dog to help with routine, but the German likes cats, and he was complaining that he already had to take care of his “dementia mum”…..so that was nice. :\

I think the German guy needs counseling.

Welp, then I left to the floor below to Starbucks!

The Starbucks had LOADS of seating. I am sure that during the weekend, it is impossible. I am going to go back to just Starbucks on Thursday morning, before I go to get my hair done. It is a good place to do some work!

I then went to go to Kinokuniya at around 10am to pick up a book I am listening to on Audible…but I think this one needs a paperback so I can mark pages for action items. It is called “I Will Teach You To Be Rich.” All the financial advice is so overwhelming and this one breaks it down to be more practical. They did not have it there so I ordered it through Amazon to the US. I also ended up with a book called “The French Art of Not Giving A Shit”. The selling point for me was on the back….

“Stop Being Calm…..be at peace”

The “calm” seems like it is trying to suppress something, while “at peace” means that I am truly at peace with myself and have more control.

I ended up heading over to Tokyu Hands to get some elastic string so I can string some beads into smaller bracelets. Just as I was at the register, my phone sent me a reminder about my Dr. Stretch appointment in 30 min.

I fucking forgot.

Luckily I was in Shinjuku right close to the station. The bad news was I did not have the tights I wear underneath the sweatpants to hide the tattoos when the sweats sag.

So I ran to the station. Got off at Takadanobaba. Went to the Uniqlo at Big Box. Bought some tights….though they are one size too small. And GOT THERE ONE MINUTE EARLY.

I am sweaty as fuck, but I made it. I bought new socks too, because I can imagine my feet are stinky at this point.

I got home around 12:20 and did a flash cleaning before the Survey guy came around. He popped around right on time: 2p. It only took like 10 min. I think I need to buy 2 more futon to take back to the US. I am going to wait until my husband is here so we can get decent ones. I don’t know what I am looking for.

TUCKER UPDATE!

He has gotten better. He still does the sniffing and head shaking now and again, but he does not always run under the drawers. When the survey guy came, I had to pull him out and then moment I did, he was just like normal Tucker: Tripping people.

Tucker used his window-bed a bit and took a nap with me.

I caught him on the window bed this morning and then sleeping next to my pillow like normal. He still stays under the dresser mostly, but he does come out to play. He does not Waterbuffalo me any more. Not sure if that is a permanent thing or what. He is definitely not AS active as before, but he still has some spunk in him.
