Post 54: Thurs. 6/6 -Inokashira Zoo

Picked up Tucker. They said that they put another cat in a cage near him and was hissing at Tucker. They said Tucker was nervous, so they asked if I would take him out. When Tucker saw me, his eyes lit up and gave me the biggest hug. After that, we decided to take it easy since I was so sick and trying to recover….we went to Kichijoji, Pancake House, and the Zoo in Inokashira-koen Zoo. We went for an early dinner at a yakitori Izakaya.

Here is us trying to walk to pick up Tucker.

The hill here looks tiny, but I am telling you….those rails on the side of the road are there for a reason, yo.

I will never not take a picture of this house.

Super tall, super pretty flowers!

Just some more interesting buildings!

Mother fuckin’ pancake house and their FUWA FUWA pancakes. They are so good, I had to post two pictures of them.

And into the park.

I have been to this park countless times in my life. 20 years ago and up to today….this is the FIRST time I ever went to the shrine.

The flowers were just too pretty to pass up.

This path is actually more shaded than what you see here, but it is still pretty.

There were 2 sides to the zoo. One was more of a wetlands reserve and the other was a zoo with smaller animals. They used to have an elephant that lived to be 69 and was very well taken care of. Clearly, because apparently according to wikipedia, elephants in captivity last around 48 years.

Look how happy he is!

More of the wetlands area. There was a place where you can pet a fish. My family put their hand in and the fish came up to it. All of a sudden he jerked his hand out and splashed water all over me. Thanks, dude.

Oh, there is also a statue museum on the Zoo (non-wetland) side. You have to cross a bridge that is over the street to get to the second side. Also, they have a walk-in squirrel place. All the squirrels look like babies…but apparently Japan squirrels are just that small. Who knew!?
