Post 66: Tuesday 6/18 Yokohama poop museum

Right after family left, they sent me a message talking about the Poop Museum in Yokohama. It is the Yokohama Unko Museum. Unko means “Poop”. Yay.

So, CLEARLY….I went.

It was an awesome day in Yokohama. I was still coughing like mad, but I was determined. I used Google to find it, but I could not find the entrance in….I ended up going in the back entrance…but I found it!

You are supposed to buy tickets ahead of time, but I just winged it. I bought the ticket for ¥1700…which is like $17.00…I was given the time slot of 10:00-10:30….this is the time slot I am allowed to wait in line…..I got up to the second floor and waited in line. There were 2 Japanese couples (I assume on a date. Why else would you come to this place?!), 3 white kids (no white parents), 1 chaperone, and me.

One of the employees went round and asked us all if we were ok with needing to go to the bathroom, since there is no toilet inside.

I now has serious concerns about what I just signed up for.

When you go in, there is a first room they take you in…this is a dark room with a tv. They play this techno music and little piles of shit are flying over. It ends with an epic title page of “Unko Museum”.

It was pretty epic.

Then we enter the next room of a line of toilets, each a different color of the rainbow. Each group gets a toilet.

Someone sits on the toilet and another takes a picture. Then the attendant tells you to make your hands into fists and push hard like you are trying to poop. All of a sudden, lights flash and a goofy flush sound is heard. You get up, and there is now a poop in your toilet. You made this poop.

I made a poop, y’all.

Appropriately, this area is called, “My Unko Maker”. I win.

Another attendant came around and put my poop on a stick.

She touched my shit, y’all.

After that section, you are free to walk around anywhere.
