Post 76: Friday 6/28 - Cleaning up and final Company party

Today, I woke up at the hotel, still with a slight stomach ache, because tomorrow I have to take Tucker in to Quarantine and nervous that he won’t do well….even though he is healthy.

I walked over to the old apartment, since it was just a little cloudy out. The Hydrangeas are still pretty even though they are dying.

The buildings on the way are always and will always be interesting to me.

I thought this leaf was really pretty, and seeing is smashed against a garbage bag gave it this feeling of “I should have something cynical to say about the earth” feeling. But ultimately, I just like the look.

Other flowers as I walk to my old apartment. Super pretty and hard to believe they are on the side of the road.

This is a little alley around Nishi Waseda, and I just love it so much.

I got in and just looked out the window. The cloudy sky and the colorful buildings make me smile every time. Any weather, this view would make me smile.

I took a break and went over to Dr. Stretch for my last session. I absolutely love that place. I then went back and got the rest of the place cleaned up. It’s so bizarre to see the apartment so cleaned up and empty. I thought I would feel sadder, but I really don’t. I think I had been preparing for a while and the apartment did not feel lived in for over a month. Basically because I would not cook all that much, because I did not want to store new things that I may not be able to use up. So I just didn't really “live” in it.

I delivered off 2 more boxes….the last boxes to my friend Saori in Aomori….which included my vacuum cleaner. I went directly over to Hamazushi to grab a quick lunch. As luck would have it, the little robot that assigns you a seat, sat me next to the lady that does my stretching at Dr. Stretch. Literally the SAME DAY! She was on break and was only there for a few minutes, but it was really nice. So we grabbed a picture together. She is so sweet and helped me out SO MUCH. If it was not for her, I would STILL not be able to touch my toes.

Went back to just finish up the cleaning that I could….got a couple more pictures of the view I am going to miss so much. I am really glad I got Tucker to the pet hotel….he would have freaked out all week.

I am done with the cleaning! As done as I am going to get!

On my way back to the hotel. I think I took the Yamanote line as I had some more stuff to take back with me, and I had to get a ticket to Haneda Airport. So, I bought the ticket and went back to the hotel.

I just thought these plants were really cool looking with the various colors. Nature is pretty fucking awesome.

I washed up and relaxed….then heading out to the restaurant to see the EAJ folks for one last time together.

I got to see almost everyone. It was pretty awesome. The 3 hours went so fast. A couple of us went out for a little while longer.

Heading back to the hotel after a lovely evening. It was great to hear about everyone and what they are doing. I think it is a rare experience to see everyone come together 3 months after being laid off.
