Day 9: Think this NOT that

Here are some of the points that I found pretty awesome from today’s mindset reset:

  • Mindset reset is a process not a final place.

  • Comparing our imperfect lives to those of Instagram “Perfect picture” strangers helps those limiting beliefs stay strong.

  • It’s like there some sort of imaginary race we are running against humanity…. and that by now we are supposed to be at a certain place….and how do you know that?! Because apparently according to social media, that is what they are saying to everyone.

  • You are not alone.

  • You have a job for the rest of your life….when the default comes creeping in, you need to take this moment to mindset reset.

How to do it:

Think this not that.

Here is a list of THINK THIS not THAT

Catch the negative default, then change it to a different way of thinking.

For example, if you are thinking that you are behind, ….and looking at social media, feeling like you are being left behind, then think “I’m on my own timeline”. or “I am exactly where I need to be”.

Another one Mel goes on with is “I’m not smart enough” …then you should think “if I put in the work, I can do anything”. They key for anyone here (Emma’s note) is that you have to put in the work. DO IT. It’s not about smart, it’s about the effort.

MAKE THIS YOURS!

Remember, you are exactly where you need to be

Important: You can ask for what you need. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO DO THIS. To yourself, to your family, to your employer.

WHEN YOU ASK FOR WHAT YOU NEED, you are honoring what is true for you. You may not get it. It’s the courage of you breaking away of your limiting belief.

NO EXPERIENCE IN LIFE THAT IS WASTED…Mel only said this passing by to get to the whole picture, but this alone is profound to me, personally.

  • There is always something to learn in this.

  • Think about how much you have survived (changing your perspective).

  • You will be doing this maintenance of your default through your life…it is a skill.

Here is what we should do…

What is your limiting belief?

Feeling not good enough.

What are you going to think when this belief comes up?

I am actually pretty fucking awesome. I am open to learning and growing and I am enough because of this. As the Japanese say: 十分です。
