Post 14: T'was a quiet day

I had a little pain in my side, so I tried to take it slow. I am now focusing on trying to get the Swiss trip planned out. I leave one week from today!

Since I was relaxing, Tucker decided to join.

I did go out and went to Bic Camera to get some last items from them….particularly the paper-like sheets for my iPad Pro. I saw this pretty flower along the way.

I did finish up a couple editing projects for youtube…..now I feel like I have figured out what direction I want to go in youtube. I realized a couple things as I was doing this:

  1. I take a lot of video of trees

  2. I do not finish my sentences

  3. I say “um” and “and, so” , “so” a lot

  4. Which cameras a better for things

  5. Audio/soundbites and how to find them.

  6. Learned more about iMovie (still using Final Cut Pro for animations).

I think a big part of this is that I am worried I will forget what Japan is like. My mind, on the other hand, tells me “You silly cow, you have lived here 3 times and have not forgotten it once!”

I took so much video because I wanted to capture everything and show folks. I felt as if I am running out of time, but in reality, I have 3 months. Those 3 months will fly by, but not fast enough to not take it in. So, now I know better what format I want, and how to edit better. ALSO, I took it easy on feeling like I have to nail the audio, speech, visuals, end sequence, and intro sequence all at once. I just let myself discover. I used a bit of Mel Robbin’s 5- second method, with a little Emma-twist: “5-4-3-2-Fuck it.” and I get up and just start what I need to start.

So, I will start developing out a script or at least some points to grasp on to as I build the next video. Also, I don’t need to show everything….if I am feeling nostalgic, all I have to do is go to where the original video file is and watch it. :)
