Post 78: Sunday 6/30 - Going Home

Woke up and had breakfast at the hotel. Just look at this collection of wieners.

I passed this place a couple times and it looked pretty interesting.

Some more morning glories. Not a super warm day so far….slightly chilly.

Walking over to Shinjuku station to drop off my luggage to a coin locker while I go to Meiji Jingu for a last minute gift for someone.

Jumped on the Yamanote to get over to Harajuku and pop into the Meiji Jingu Shrine.

The different charms that they have. This is only a small portion.

This is a charm (inside the box) specifically for getting better from an illness.

There was a wedding that just finished. This is the second time I have run into this.

Remember that little plant that I posted about a week ago? This is that little plant and his new friends!

Got the charms and headed back to Harajuku station and then back to Shinjuku station where I will meet a buddy for a coffee.

There is still some time before I meet up with my buddy, Miho, so I grabbed some food at the NS Building in Shinjuku. I figured there would be less people around since it is a financial building and it was a Sunday. But NO….There were a lot of children. There was some sort of even that was going on for kids. Not so many in the Tully’s so that was good at least.

Since it was a bit rainy, I decided to take the underground and walk to the New Shinjuku area.

After having a really nice ice cream and coffee with Miho, we headed over to the Airport. Picked up Tucker….picked up luggage, and then went to drop the luggage off.

At this point, the JAL counter said that I was missing a document. WHICH I WAS NOT….so they had to call quarantine, and somehow magically, they took Tucker. Miho and I chilled a bit and then I went through Security.

Everything was fine.and I bought this chocolate since it was highly recommended. And it was FUCKING DELICIOUS.

I got a really nice seat on the plane: Premium Economy. There was some turbulence, but not too bad. I was very nervous for Tucker.

We landed well, and I got off the plane quickly. Went through Immigrations and got my luggage, but was not sure where to get Tucker…since the area that says “Pet Crate Pick-Up” was next to a small hallway with security licked doors. I went and asked the baggage claim people where the cat was since I assumed it was in one of those doors, they just told me to go to this janky-ass counter for information.

The counter had numbers from 1-5 and each number was an airline that was present at the baggage claim at that time. Except JAL was not available. I went in any line…I ended up with Air France lady and she was just useless….”I don’t know where the JAL representative is…I just deal with Air France…” No other help. I was like “fuck this shit….” and walked away. I found another baggage claim person and asked how to get the cat….he just kept pointing to the sign….I was frustrated, because I assumed I had to get help to get into one of the offices… but no….they literally dump the cat crate off under the sign in the middle of the aisle.

So there is Tucker’s crate, tied in two layers of nets. Carrbeaners (sp?) and taped up as well. No one was offering any help. So, I decided to take the net and all.

As I was going to walk out, I saw a group of JAL employees ignoring the people around them and just talking to themselves, I rushed up to one and asked him to help me. He was looking around to see if someone else will help and I just said, “If you do not help me, I am going to take the nets with me”. He then decided to help. I was so fucking pissed off at SFO. A Bunch of fucking morons. Serious morons.

When I went over to security, that guy was AWESOME. He was super calm and helped me readjust my luggage to make sure the cat was on safer. He let me know where to go and what to do. The security at customs was really kind as well. So, SFO security team was awesome…the rest of the folks can suck a donkey dick.

I got home alright, and then got a phone……
