Post 81: Starting to form my habits

I started cleaning the kitchen up more and got to some of the nastiest of nastiest….which was the white cupboard and the mass amounts of packets of food in spread across all the other cupboards.

I donated and then ended up just throwing away a lot of glassware….well, recycled it, because we could, apparently.

I bought a new Keurig for Aki. It is much smaller. I do realize I should have taken before pictures for a lot of this stuff….but honestly, I do not want to remember how it was. I did take pictures of the living room, so you get to remember THAT.

I also did a Flow Yoga class at Align Yoga yesterday. There was a $30 all you can yoga offer for the next 2 weeks. I liked it, honestly. There were some challenging parts for sure….but when I think back to Dr. Stretch, I now know what is a good stretch and was is just pulling.

I went to the Hot Yoga this morning at 6am. Man, I almost talked myself out of it too. But I went. My heart was pounding through the heat. But at least I sweat. I sweat a lot. I don’t normally sweat, so this was a good feeling. I could have done without the stinging in my eyes.

Chiyo is starting to tolerate Tucker a little more, though Tucker seems to be a little more territorial to the downstairs. He will chase Chiyo upstairs. So they are now pretty even with who picks fights. There are a lot of times they will just walk away.

Tucker still prefers me though.

I had moved my hand close to my thigh, and Tucker grabbed on and pulled it close to him. It was so sweet.

I have been getting outside when I can and taking walks. I do need to do some running here soon. I think I may do a run to Orange Theory Fitness and back tomorrow. It has been generally nice out. Though there have been some pretty hot days. The mornings are surprisingly cool.

Once again, success in getting the cats to eat together. That does not seem to be the problem though. I think we are going to step it up and have Tucker upstairs some days with Chiyo. Monitored, of course.

We had chicken wings that I baked. They were pretty good. I like being able to bake. the only problem I have is that the kitchen is so inaccessible at the moment, it makes it hard to really want to cook much. But I really want to make my own food so bad….so dinners I definitely do. Lunch time, the area is so messy….but I am ALMOST there. So close!

That pink belly. It used to be that it was pink because she was so fat that the fur wouldn’t cover it. We had to leave food out for Nausicaa because she was thin….so when Nausicaa passed on, Chiyo went on a diet. But Aki and I think the uncovered belly is because Chiyo is getting older (11 years) and she licks it a lot.

Tucker keeps sitting on my desk since I have put it up….and he has more room to lounge around on. And he takes advantage of that. Puts his little butthole on every space he possibly can.

Anyway, so yesterday, Aki and I went around to this one Safeway in Walnut Creek. We actually went to Scriptworks to figure out how to dispose of used needles we used for Benkei and Nausicaa. But close to there is a nice little plaza that they set up.

We ended up going to Mod Pizza and getting a mini each. It was the perfect size and the crust was a thin-crust. I just had the plain cheese and it was great! I could have eaten more, but I did not NEED to eat more. It was really good.

Then Aki and I went over to PetSmart to get Tucker registered for the Pet Hotel they have there. Though, right when we got to the desk, I got a call from a Home rental agency. We talked about the type of homes and prices I was looking for. So I need to get on that. I will likely do that this evening. :)

HOWEVER, Aki was having a hard time with this lady who was not the sharpest tool in the shed. She would ask what time we wanted to drop the cat off….and Aki said the evening. The lady asked what time again. He said, “Anytime in the evening.” But the lady just kept asking what time. Like, bitch….give us some options or something. Clearly we are not used to what your availabilities are. So FINALLY she said “noon?”….

Ok….hang on….is noon “evening?” How about giving us some options for “evening”….

Finally, we arrived at 5pm. Now, Saturday, Morning…I said first thing in the morning…she said “noon?”.

Sis….

Siiiiiis……….are your lexicon choices: “yes”, “no”, and “noon” ?!

At this point, I was like, sure…that’s fine.

I will just show up in the morning on Saturday and pick up the cat before noon……

ANYWHOOO….Cleaned more of the kitchen and all I have left are the plates and bowls and the kitchen utensils in a couple drawers. Then after that, the fridge itself. Once I get that all completed, I am going to work on a little tea area. :) Aww shit….I need a small toaster. —THANK YOU, AMAZON.

I ended up passing a test for a company. This company is known for giving everyone a test. I think that is fine, actually. Some companies only give Engineers, Artists, and Designers tests….so this was a good thing. I was happy to hear that.

Last night, I made Pork Loin….though, I should have gotten the tenderloin. It was still decent. Sweet potatoes were good. The white potatoes and red potatoes did not cook all the way through. They were still edible though. I think I should have cut them smaller. There were a bunch left over.

Roasted the rest of the potatoes and they were fucking phenomenal.

The plan for today is, I will make crab sandwiches like Luke’s Lobster, but with Crab. Crab seems to have more flavor for me. But Luke’s Lobster is AMAZING. So much lobster. But the way they flavor it and the buns are sooooooo goooooood.

Last night, I heard this weird tire-losing-air sound. I replied that Chiyo came down stairs and was trying to nap on my chair. Because of this, I may try taking a nap upstairs. I don’t know if we will have the gate up or not. Tucker has gotten braver with the gate. It used to be that he would wait by the gate if I was upstairs and Chiyo would lunge for him. He would then bolt down stairs. Now he just stands there. BUT….when I go up stairs, he bolts right in front of me. It is the most bizarre thing.

I think Aki is excited to go on our first real vacation in a really long time….not counting the times he visited my places when at work….lol.

Oh yeah! I am trying to shift my habits of watching trashy YouTube videos to a MasterClass where I don’t have to pay too much attention. So I am watching the Margaret Atwood one. The Joyce Carol Oates one looks really good too. It looks more like one that I really have to pay attention to though, so I will add that into my morning routine.

So, that’s about it. I didn’t think that I would have that much to write. I was very wrong apparently.
