Post 82: The start of August and a load of shit

I think I am starting to get back on a schedule. Only took me about a month. That’s actually not too bad considering all the changes that have been going on. But I will say that the past month feels like years.

I did force myself to go to Hot Yoga yesterday morning. It was good, but man did it make my heart just THUD in my chest. Holy cow!

I did organize the kitchen more. I went through all the plates and bowls. Now I just need to do some of the utensils and a drawer of kitchen items, and I think we will be good. There is A LOT more space. <3 I am not sure what is coming from Japan, but I do believe there is very little from the kitchen. Definitely the high speed blender and the air fryer. Other than that, I am not worried about it.

I set up my tea area and the coffee area too. I updated it because of how Aki uses the space to dry dishes…pictures to come.

OH YEAH! I cleaned the fuck out of my bedroom closet. I have 2 giant garbage bags stuffed with clothing and bags. I have 2 medium boxes with just shoes and bags. It looks so empty. Though there are drawers that are stuffed with clothing….so I am a little worried about that when the Japan clothing comes, because I do have a lot of that. I do have a lot of shoes too. But I think I can get rid of some of those as well, tbh.

So the plan today is that I will fix up the cat area, start putting away books and art supplies (not necessarily in a usable manner yet) so sectioning them out like….paint in one cubby, markers in another, etc. I still have a filing cabinet I can use too.

Aki and I took a break and went on a walk to the Safeway on Patterson.

We went through a park and I realized that he wanted to do that to get Pokemon stuff…..

We got food from Safeway that was for Ramen Aki was going to make in the evening. It was toasty out, but a good walk. Passed some really pretty flowers as we were walking by. there is a house on the corner of Patterson and Boyd that is so pretty. It is like a well-kept ancient garden that I love looking at as I pass by. They have these giant bushes that form a wall so they don’t have to see the school or all the moms lining up along the road to pick up their kids. They have a rustic fence on the Patterson side with flowers and ivy all climbing it. This way no kids cut through the lawn. :)

When we got home, I made a crab hoagie-thing. I used the Kewpie mayo and some dressing salt along with some lump crab I rinsed the fuck out of. Gotta get those hard bits out, yo. It was pretty good. I used to like lobster, but lately it just seems to not have any flavor. Crab does though.

Aki got angry because the soft-boiled eggs he was making were very hard to peel and just broke all over the place. I hate when eggs are hard to peel. So Aki made another round and we transferred them directly to a bowl of ice. They were much easier to peel. Still delicate, but easier.

This is when I finished the kitchen and then worked on the bedroom.

Aki made ramen and we sat down and watched Chiko-chan. After that I went to my desk because I needed to get ready to start a load of new beginnings that I have been meaning to start and have been preparing for in the past week. Tucker joined me and brought a toy.

So, I got my finances, particularly my subscriptions in order, and boy was that a shock. So I am going to challenge myself….even in Utah…of budgeting and seeing what my spending habits are. I am using “You Need A Budget” App. Not sure if I set it up right, but I tried.

I am also going to record more of my eating. The way I have experienced this whole “recording” thing, is I tend to do it for 2-3 weeks and then I am good to go. But with eating, I want to get the calories understood, and then I want to understand how the protein/carb/fat ratio needs to change when I start doing longer distances.

I did notice when I was in Japan that finance, mental, physical, etc. was so connected. Once I actually started to declutter my surroundings, I was able to declutter my finances, and then declutter my mind….it all lined up. So, that is why I think I can’t stand so much clutter and it gets overwhelming. So, I will continue to do so….but after the initial decluttering, I have to go through again to make the areas more functional. What I mean by that is ….well….let’s take for example the coffee area set up I have. I could push the space back to the wall. Now, since I am decluttering other areas, it gives us time to use the coffee area and see what works and what doesn’t. Then I refine it based off the functionality. It could be that it is hard to get the water in the pot or because there is so much space in the front area now, we tend to set things there, making it painful in the morning to get coffee easily. Not a very pleasant start to the day, yo. So, this is the time to refine the spaces.

That is how I have been doing it in Japan, and it works. The decluttering time also gives me time to think. It’s a bit of a meditation, really. :)

Anyway, today’s plan is the art supplies, cat area, utensils, and on top of the cupboard…..and the side of my bed. woo hoo!
