Post 91: Reset

This past week was pretty good. I spent a lot of it preparing and getting loads of stuff done for work starting on Monday. However, it turned out that we had to push the date out to October 7th (when I get back from Ohio) due to paperwork on the company end. In the meantime, I am going to learn more about the company, the products, and the people.

I did take time and work on a workout schedule that fits my needs. I actually worked out a lot of schedules. Here is the plan:

Mornings:

Monday - Yoga

Tuesday & Thursday - Orange Theory Fitness

Evenings:

Either 3 - 30 minute jogs in the city

OR

2 - 30 minute jogs and one Orange Theory Fitness session.

Though, I did find a gym that does spin classes. So I may look into that. I did have to scale down my yoga membership to just buy classes instead of doing 3 days a week. I found out that Wednesdays are now done this one dude whose whole identity is “yoga”. He does the Bikram set of yoga moves that I absolutely HATE. I made sure that when I signed up, I was not signing up for Bikram. He is one of those guys that has a ratty towel in the corner and thinks the whole world is his yoga mat….therefore does not need a yoga mat. Dude-money turns up the lights to the fucking brightest at 6am…..I made it through and then looked at the schedule and saw his name there for Wednesdays.

I definitely believe in God now…..sending me this sandy-ass message.

Message received sir.

Changing Subject!

I spent most of yesterday organizing the outline and scheduling of the book. So, now I am onto the phase of writing through each section starting today. My aim is to have it finished by end of the year this year.

I have found myself laying on the counting calories and expenses. In terms of calories, I am still counting, but doing more of a 100 calorie method. So, trying to keep foods at 100 calories. Like one slice of Smoked Salmon is 100 calories…pair that with bread which is 100 calories. So now, I am trying to find out what items are the biggest bang for my 100-calorie buck.

Some of the major purchases, I have not accounted for. I know I can cover them, but I am not putting them in, because they are a rarity and I am trying to see how I “normally” spend my money. ALSO, to curb my spending on stupid shit that I really don’t need…..like another shirt.

YouTube

I have decided to restart doing my YouTube channel. Once again, for myself. I did not have a lot of focus and I wanted to record what was going on in Japan at the time. I was not able to get them out very often, because I felt that I had to be adding in loads of typography, music, etc. The whole process was just dampening the whole reason I wanted to do this in the first place. The biggest reason is to get used to talking in the camera. I do want to add things now and again, but it is not nearly as important. There are a few topics that I will be covering:

  1. Book schedule

  2. Marathon Training

  3. Health

  4. Art/Creative endeavors.

I am not seeing this as being held accountable by announcing it. I can change my mind whenever the fuck I want. What I do want to see is where are my tipping points. Where do I want to stop doing things and figuring out why. So, in a RACI chart, I am RESPONSIBLE for my actions. I am ACCOUNTABLE. I hold MYSELF accountable. In many YouTubers, they hand over the responsibility for pushing accountability that person. That is perfectly fine….however, for me, while it is encouraging, I need to be able to hold myself accountable and decided when to quit and when to persevere. Because nobody lives my life for me.

Let’s take a quick break from the serious.

That should do it.

Aki and I went into the City on Friday as I was planning on looking at a bike. I ended up buying a ridiculously expensive one, but it is lighter than the electric scooter by 10 lbs. Actually….it weighs like 28 lbs or something….I lost more weight than that bike weighs. Hard to believe I had that hanging around me. ANYWHO…we went into a not-so-nice area, but ended up having a good time none-the-less. Got my bike.

Went home and FINALLY finished this piece. So glad it is done. Now I am working on another piece.

Here are the other pieces I am working on. I did the coloring of the leaves already via Instagram Live. Just learning how to use that. But I am liking how it is turning out. :) I think I want to try the second picture to only be lightly colored. The plant one, I wanted to really play with the colors. I have a long way to go….but I think I want to play with color combining in a new sketchbook. Maybe I will use my own sketchbook.

I saw this place “Joe and the Juice” as Aki and I were walking back from my race the weekend before. I really want wanted to go here….so I did on Saturday before I did a bit of a walk around myself. I had a smoothie that was amazing and the latte was AWESOME. I will definitely be making this place a key place to go….maybe Friday mornings?

I went walking around in the City. Went towards Fort Mason. Not exactly the same route Aki and I went the previous week, but close.

I turned left and went up Lombard street. So many tourists, and they were kinda rude. I understand taking pictures, but the walk ways were not so wide and people were standing in the middle with their big-ass back packs taking up the space. You would say “excuse me” and they would not move.

So I moved them. I can’t help but shoulder their backpack over as I am trying to pass. I tried saying excuse me a couple times, if you ignore it or don’t hear it….you do now. I did not run into them with full force knocking them over….simply enough to either get them to step forward or out of the way. Some realized they were being rude….some did not.

The trolleys were packed and all over the place. Man, those tracks are terrifying.

This building was so fucking pretty close up. From afar, there is a tree in the way and the ivy looks trashy…but up close….super pretty.

The curve on the tracks as it goes up….Just the beginning.

Heading into the bay. I decided to go to Fort Mason at this point.

Fort Mason area. Really neat on a cloudy day.

Also, more asshole tourists.

Fort Mason, yo! Loads of arts things going on in there.

I really do love the different colored and styled buildings. There is something really cool about them. What makes me sad is the sheer price of living in SF….and a lot of the buildings are really old and not kept up very well….except the billionaire ones, of course….those peasant millionaires….

The succulents were beautiful too.

Aki and I had “leftovers” for lunch on Sunday. Tomato Steaks, 1/2 boiled eggs, sweet potato (2 kinds), 1/2 avocado, smoked salmon, sugar snap peas, and kale salad.

I fucking hate kale.
