Post 108: Out to Sacramento

I still absolutely find myself missing the accessibility and wonder of Japan. A lot. In Tokyo, I could just get on a really early train and go to a mountain. It costs $$, but not too bad. I do wish I made longer trips out, but Tucker would have freaked out. Especially at the apartment by himself. That hospital stay I had really fucked him up.

Anyway….so the run down this week:

The little project each morning has been going really well. What has NOT really taken, is only doing exercise a couple days a week for like 30-40 min. That seems to be a no bueno. Why? Well, I seem to do a whole lot better doing like 10-15 min a day, with a walk at lunch (or a cycle class on Peleton for 20-30 min) every day, rather than just a couple days for longer. It looks like I take to having smaller classes daily is my jam. That being said, today, after the gardener gets here and done, I am going to go for a run. I can feel the urge to do a Hiit run. It is fucking gorgeous outside and it is cooler. :) Truly autumn has come

Aki and I went to Sacramento. We wanted to try Oto’s market again (super small), but ultimately, we wanted to go to the park….more to come on that….BUT on the way, we did talk about the fact that I would like to move out of California. It turned out my friend was going to try to buy a home in Tracy, California. Unfortunately it fell through. It was a house that was around $750,000. It looked really nice, but anywhere else, a house like that would be like $250,000. I just can’t bring myself to spend $750,000 on a house in California (at least not right now). Here’s the thing about the house….it is in BFE….so, if/when she goes back into the office, she has to drive to the pick up point, and take the shuttle in from there…it can be around a 2hr trip one way. I have done that before….but I don’t know if I would spend that much money on a house AND have to do that shitty commute. Anyway, I am not in a rush to leave California because I fucking love my job and Aki enjoys his. So, when circumstances change, sure….but I did voice out that I do NOT want to wait until I am 60+ to where I end up have limited mobility and harder time to do shit like hiking. I DEFINITELY want to move to a place that has all 4 seasons…yes…winter too. I want to have it much easier accessibility to a large park/hiking/running area like what they have in Sacramento or Utah. I am actually aiming more at Minneapolis. Not sure tho. Still remaining open. It all depends on work/circumstances, etc. We shall see.

I got my Voting stuff, and I voted….walked it over to the ballot box, and dropped it off. :) Done. Good luck!

Still taking time to play around with needle painting. Still learning, but getting there. :) I have pretty much been practicing my guitar through the week. I think maybe Friday was the only day that I didn’t because I was so fucking exhausted from work. But I am truly enjoying it.

Debates are irritating. No one answers questions….just pure bullshit thrown in every direction. However, I understand that the Dump administration only knows how to throw shit, so the only way to get through is to lower your standards and speak the same way.

My mom recommended a food cycler where I can put my raw garbage and mulch it down so it can be used as compost for the garden. It was expensive, but my mom loves hers, so I got one. I will be setting it up today as the gardener comes by, since I need to clean up the back room anyway. I have to keep the window curtains shut, because Nacho loses his shit when he sees someone else….especially if they have a dog.

It is getting a little cooler here, so I put the fluffy comforter back up and Chiyo has immediately taken to it.

Let’s see…I have several things that I need to set up and have as early morning projects:

  1. Scrapbook pictures I have

  2. Put together shutterfly books for my digital images

  3. Clean up my computer

  4. Finish my stretching sheets

  5. Will

  6. Finances

I also have a good amount of work that I want to do in the evenings and on weekends.

  1. 3D castle

  2. Finish inking Italy trip

  3. Work on Australia and Switzerland Trip

  4. Emergency Packs

  5. Learn to make a proper cake (doing that today)

I am actually quite excited about this. Mainly because I am minimizing a lot of shit in my place.

Finally, we went to Sacramento to visit a park…William Land Park, I think. There were a shit-load of people, even someone parked in a black Subaru Forester in front of me with the plate 8KWT999, my license is 8KWT940. I hope that fact was not lost on the people that parked in front of me. :)

Anyway, Aki and I walked around. These nature walks are something we really like to do. I would like to do more, but he is tired a lot and trying to get to these places takes at minimum 1 hour on the highway. I really wish they were closer. I don’t know what it would take to move away. I don’t even know where I would like to go. Stay in the Pacific Northwest? Midwest? Northwest has loads of rain and loads of green. Midwest, has seasons…..anywhere that has Japan town or easy- access to Japanese food and books….I don’t know. I guess I have to take some time to see. Maybe it is something where Aki and I can spend a weekend or whatnot at a place and rent a car or some shit. Anyway, we enjoyed our time at the park, even though it was short. OH yeah, one thing that did suck about the park…about 80% of it was for golfing. :| But it was a fucking GORGEOUS day.
