Post 102: The Squirrels Are Not Dead

The squirrel thing is a good thing. I learned that squirrels will cool themselves off by laying flat on shaded concrete or stone.

This little fucker looked like he was sunbathing and was kind of sweet. I had another one later in the day on the brick almost under my glass table mixed with the downed pine needles from the storm. He was just contorted enough that it looked like he fell out of the tree. It was slightly terrifying. He was there for about 2 hours all contorted and shit.

For quite some time, I had been worried about electrical fires and making sure I can get everyone out in case of a fire. Then….as I am finishing up a meeting, I look to my left and the fucking house behind me is smoking like it’s a reefer museum with a playground. I didn’t see any flames and it is WAAAAYYYY TOOOOOO hot for a fireplace…plus it was a window the smoke was coming out of on the roof. Aki and I went outside and we could then smell the fire. Just as I was about to call the fire department, I could hear the fire trucks coming. . A police officer came in our back yard and said that just in case flames jump….to make sure pets and elderly are secured.

That was scary. BUT the family and the dog got out safely!!! Thank goodness!

Let’s see….looking at trying to live one day at a time…which is hard to mix when you have to think about saving for the future. meh.

Anyway, I made some squash with butter, garlic, and cajun spices:

Other than all that, I have been doing some cross stitching and it has been quite fun, actually. :) Tucker likes to help, but I am terrified he will step or eat a needle. Silly cat. He doesn’t, but still in the back of my head.
